Gordon Ramsay and Comic Relief have joined forces to bring you something really exciting – a range of delicious cooking sauces that benefit Comic Relief. You could say it’s Seriously Good sauce for a Seriously Good cause.
Here's how it works...
You get flavoursome, quality cooking sauces for mouth-watering meals. Comic Relief receives at least 10p from the sale of every jar of sauce. Gordon doesn’t get a penny. It's as simple as that.
The idea of developing a range of sauces was cooked up by Gordon himself, following an inspirational visit to a project that cares for street children in Tanzania. Gordon was incredibly touched by the children he met on the trip and decided he wanted to use his profile to help Comic Relief 365 days of the year.
Three years in development, the Seriously Good range was created in Gordon’s kitchens and overseen by the man himself with support from his team of top chefs. Top quality Mediterranean inspired ingredients, such as porcini mushrooms, 12 year old balsamic vinegar and oven roasted cherry tomatoes, have been selected and combined by Gordon to produce rich, intense flavours that you will absolutely love.
All the sauces in the Seriously Good range are cooked using a slow, authentic procedure with the vegetables and herbs added toward the end of the process to ensure they keep their vibrant flavour. This slower method is akin to traditional methods used in Italian cuisine and allows the natural sweetness to emerge from the tomatoes - helping to maintain the deep, rich red colour.

Gordon is a longstanding supporter of Comic Relief and is seriously committed to its cause. Gordon first became involved with the charity in 2002 when he ran the London Marathon for Comic Relief’s “Sport Relief” campaign and visited his first Comic Relief-funded project in Tanzania with Lenny Henry. He has also been involved in other Comic Relief projects including running the Sport Relief Mile and appearing on "A Question of Sport Relief".
The money raised by Comic Relief helps to give a better chance to people living in conditions of poverty and social injustice - across Africa and some of the world's poorest countries. It also helps poor and disadvantaged individuals and communities across the UK turn their lives around.
Some of the ways Comic Relief cash has made a difference in Africa is through educating people about HIV and AIDS, teaching women to read, immunising children and helping people rebuild their communities after conflict. Across the UK, examples include supporting older people in their fight to get their rights recognised, offering counselling and fun activities to give young carers a much needed break, and providing escape routes for women living with domestic violence.
