Clare Smyth
Born near Bushmills in Northern Ireland, Clare moved to England when she was 16 to train in Grayshott Hall in Surrey and Highbury College in Portsmouth.
After finishing college Clare worked as a commis chef at Bibendum in South Kensington. Following this stint she gained further kitchen experience in Cornwall where she became a head chef at the very young age of 21 before joining Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as demi chef de partie in 2002. In 2005 Clare left the restaurant for a period to work as a private chef in France before spending two years at Louis XV Alain Ducasse in Monaco. In 2007 Clare returned to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as head chef.
Clare has retained the restaurants coveted three Michelin stars for the last two years and is the only female chef in the UK to run a restaurant with this accolade.
